Transportation, Logistics Companies Expand in City of Industry

Woman-Owned Businesses Consolidate Operations In New 90,000 sq. ft. Facility

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (December 2, 2002) - Majestic Realty Co. announced that the Megatrux companies, a family of four transportation and logistics-management businesses, recently leased a 90,000 sq. ft. building on San Jose Ave in the City of Industry. The $2.85 million, multi-year lease allows one of the largest transportation networks serving the continental United States, Canada and Mexico to consolidate its Southern California operations.

The four Megatrux companies-Megatrux, Inc., Megatrux Transportation Inc., Megatrux Express and Industry Freight-provide a variety of freight, logistics, and transportation and distribution services to clients in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Karen Pelle, Megatrux president, said the new facility offers many amenities, particularly a location that is centralized for the companies' employees, as well as strategic access to major West Coast shipping ports and freeways.

"We needed to be accessible for our staff and in an environment conducive to our business," Pelle said, adding that the firms' Orange County offices are now consolidated under the same roof.

Majestic Realty was represented by Terry Baker and Kent Valley who felt that the Megatrux companies were ideally suited to the City of Industry property.

"Many of our business parks and industrial properties are developed with transportation and distribution in mind," Baker said. "We look for sites that allow our tenants to be near regional transportation corridors-railways and freeways, airports and major shipping ports. With their emphasis on logistics and transportation services, the Megatrux companies were the ideal tenants for this property."

Recognized nationally as leading woman-owned businesses, the Megatrux companies relocated from various Orange County locations.
