Silverton Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, NV

Silverton Hotel & Casino has secured America’s most popular outdoor retailer, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, as a key anchor tenant and strategic partner for the property’s planned multi-phase expansion.

The 130,000-sq. ft. Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World mega store will be a key partner of the Silverton’s 100-acre master plan, which will include 1 million sq. ft. of retail, hotel and entertainment, at the property’s I-15 and Blue Diamond location. The $100 million first phase of the casino expansion and Bass Pro store development is scheduled for opening in the fall of 2004. In addition to the Bass Pro store, Silverton will add an additional 25,000-sq. ft. of gaming, entertainment, and a gigantic aquarium featured inside the new casino space, and is currently redesigning the mining town themed property to complement the mountain lodge architecture of Bass Pro.

“There is simply no other shopping experience that compares to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World,” said Ed Roski, Jr. owner of Silverton. “It is an American outdoor institution and we’re excited to have them join us as we create a unique destination environment combining our resort and their store.”

Silverton will extend the outdoor/sportsman theme throughout the casino’s three-year multi-phase expansion into additional retail stores, restaurants, hotels and possibly timeshares. Additional strategic partners and details will be announced in the near future.

“The growth of the Las Vegas Valley to the south and west, combined with our prominent I-15 location capturing in-and out-bound Southern California traffic, perfectly positions our property for tremendous growth,” said Craig Cavileer, executive vice president and general manager of Silverton. “Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops recognized this strategic advantage and we’re delighted to have them as an anchor in our masterplan. Bass Pro is the most sought-after lifestyle retailer in the country and draws 3 - 4 million visitors per year to each of its 19 locations across the United States,” Cavileer continued.

With an award-winning design, interactive atmosphere featuring waterfalls, intricately detailed ironwork, aquariums stocked with native fish, massive log and rock work reminiscent of old Adirondack lodges, antiques and nostalgic photos of sportsmen in their element, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is truly a celebration of outdoor life.

In addition to developing the Bass Pro store, Phase I of the Silverton project calls for extensive remodeling of the hotel and casino, including the renovation of all 300 hotel rooms, the addition of a new 240-seat, 24-hour restaurant, a 125-seat lounge, a 140-seat steakhouse, a 45-seat Mexican restaurant and the renovation of the 450-seat buffet. Additionally, infrastructure improvements will include new restrooms as well as upgraded gaming machines and sound and lighting systems.

The Silverton Hotel & Casino masterplan calls for creation of a unique “town center” to include restaurants, entertainment venues and a regional shopping complex featuring a strong mix of retailers offering general merchandise, soft goods, apparel, books and more.
