The Village - Walnut, CA
With its upscale, craftsman-style architecture and high-profile tenant mix, The Village will bring a unique blend of shopping and dining to the city of Walnut, California, when it opens this fall. Designed with an immense attention to detail, the retail center features attractive fountains, stone columns, patios lined with brick pavers, piped-in music and lush landscaping.
Developed by Majestic and built by Commerce Construction Co., the 15-acre project features 130,000-sq. ft. of retail space. Anchor tenants include Staples, TJ Maxx and HomeGoods-all set to open in 3rd Quarter 2003. Millie’s, Applebee’s and McDonalds are already open for business, providing full service and casual dining opportunities. TutorTime Learning Center, a provider of daycare and pre-school services for the youth of the Walnut community, opened earlier this year.
“The Village is the result of a diligent effort on the part of the city of Walnut and the community. Their goal was to develop more than just a retail center-they wanted a place where people could gather in a pleasant setting and feel a strong sense of community,” said Thomas Cozzolino, Majestic vice president. “Because of our strong working relationships with our tenants, we were able to give Walnut officials what they wanted….a destination where members of this diverse, family oriented community can meet to shop and dine in a fun and friendly surrounding.”
Located at Grand Ave. and Valley Blvd., with convenient access to the 60 and 57 freeways, The Village is ideally suited to serve a growing community with impressive demographics.
“The average annual household income within three miles of the center is $82,005,” said Majestic vice president John Hunter, director of the firm’s retail division. “Additionally, nearby Mt. San Antonio College serves more than 40,000 full-time students, which is an attractive, built-in audience for The Village.”
Additional tenants include Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant, Starbucks, Robek’s Juice, Cold Stone Creamery, Quizno’s, Dr. Young, O.D., and Ten Ren’s Tea Time. Additional space is available.
